Robert LoveExecutive Director

Robert Love joined Butte Home Health and Hospice as the Executive Director in 2018 with a vision of evolving the agency into “something truly special” in the community.

“We are here to be a resource, the go-to agency in the community for our patients. We’re here to be the preferred partner for the healthcare community, and the indisputable choice for the very best healthcare providers who want to be part of the best team in the industry,” he announced to staff after joining the team full time in 2018. (Read the announcement here).

Robert started his career in home health and hospice shortly after attending the Graduate School of Management at UC Davis, graduating in 2001.

“I started with a plan to help Butte Home Health grow and develop their place in the community. From there, I became hooked on both Home Health and Hospice, and knew that I wanted to make this a career,” Robert shared. “I obtained a certificate in both home care management and hospice management, and focused on both growing the company and optimizing operations.”

After Butte became the largest agency in the North Valley with the best clinical outcomes (According to Home Health Compare) and a string of successive honors as an “Elite Agency,” he left the agency in 2010 and to become a home health and hospice expert in the Electronic Medical Record industry. There, he worked with Complia/Continulink, CareVoyant, DeVero, and later Netsmart.

In 2017, he returned to Chico and became active at Butte Home Health and Hospice again. “I always knew I’d be back on the provider side again, and at that point in 2018, it was clear there was an opportunity to lead the agency and create a movement known internally at BHH 2.0.”

“After working with agencies across the country, I saw there was a trend with agencies that were community-focused, doing well financially, with satisfied patient, happy team members, and all the while enjoying the work and having fun. After studying some of the best local and regional agencies in many different states, I developed a ‘playbook’ and was excited to bring these ideas and philosophies back to my hometown of Chico to create something special- not just an agency, but a movement”

The organizational plan of Butte Home Health and Hospice 2.0 is focused on four key pillars:

Team satisfaction, with the goal of attracting and retaining the very best clinical staff. This means hiring experienced and compassionate caregivers- not just team members who can do the job, but those who believe in our mission of changing lives and serving the community.

Patient satisfaction– Creating the best possible patient experience that results in the best clinical outcomes and highest patient satisfaction, delivered by the best team in the area.

Serving the community with the very best, innovative care. This community-focused approach means that we re-invest in the community by developing partnerships and being the go-to resource for all home health, home care, and hospice related issues.

Growth. By becoming the best, we’re inherently going to be the agency of choice. With this superior level of care, it’s our obligation to deliver the best to our home areas of Butte, Glenn, and Tehama counties.

So far, the results have been impressive. Patient and family satisfaction scores are higher than ever, clinical outcomes are rising, the agency was recognized as a “Great Nonprofit,” and as the “Best Healthcare Provider” according to Chico News and Review readers.

“We’re excited about our results so far in 2019,” said Robert Love, “but we’re just getting started.”
