While Hospice is a Medicare-funded program, the cost of care goes far beyond what is paid. The remainder is supported through donations from the community. Butte Home Health & Hospice is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charity, meaning donations are tax-deductible.
If you choose, there are many ways to help hospice:
Memorial Gifts:
With an “in memoriam donation” the Hospice will send a card to the family to notify them of your gift and will send you a tax receipt. While you honor your own special memories of a friend or a loved one, your gift will go on to provide comfort for many other patients and families in their time of need. Gifts of $100 or more will be honored with an engraved plaque placed on our memory board, which is displayed in the lobby of our office.

Planned Gifts:
A planned gift is any contribution that is arranged or provided for during the giver’s lifetime, but it may not actually be received by the hospice until after the donor’s death. These gifts are often made through a will, an insurance policy, or a trust. These can also be made in cash, stocks, or other sources.
Gifts of Time/Volunteering:
In addition to supporting hospice financially many people enjoy investing their time and expertise as hospice volunteers. We at Hospice of Butte Home Health say that volunteers are the “heart of hospice” because they are involved in almost everything that we do.
Hospice volunteers perform a variety of duties including spending time with patients, family support, bereavement support, clerical work, fund-raising, and special projects in the office. Learn more at https://buttehomehealth.com/volunteer/
Advocacy:
One of the best ways to support hospice is to share your support of hospice. Following, sharing and commenting on social media is very helpful, especially on Facebook. However, the most effective advocacy measure is an online review. Our target websites are Google, Facebook, Yelp, Caring.com, and GreatNonProfits. Sharing a positive hospice experience helps support our mission.
